A 47-year-old man died after being stabbed this Sunday afternoon (10/30/2011), in the Setor Norte Ferroviário neighborhood, in Goiânia, after a disagreement with a coworker. According to Military Police (PM) Sergeant Joel Gomes, two "excursion intermediaries" argued over R$ 10 during the sale of a bus ticket. ("excursion intermediary" was a good one!, that's the name given to the guys who stay on the street shouting: "Maranhão!!! Imperatriz!!!)
During the disagreement, one of the men ended up striking the other with a knife blow to the abdomen. The victim was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) team, but died on the way to the Goiânia Emergency Hospital (Hugo).
According to the PM, the suspect of committing the murder was found in a bar shortly after the crime. The police also state he intended to flee, as officers found some of his luggage inside a bus that was scheduled to travel to Maranhão this Sunday. However, he was taken to the Homicide Division, in the Setor Cidade Jardim neighborhood, where he is expected to give a statement.
Without control over illegal buses, anyone can leave Goiânia carrying drugs and weapons. In addition to fugitives from justice.
