The word autopsy comes from a time when, due to religious dogma, it was forbidden to violate human bodies for study.
The first ones who dared to challenge this dogma discovered a new world, hence the etymology of this word,
“The human being looking inside another human being; their fellow being, therefore the human being seeing themselves” In French autopsie.
