It was thanks to a doctor and friend of Dona Neuma that Marco Aurélio and his siblings were introduced to Scouting. The discipline and organization of the movement captivated all the children, who began to participate. Seu Ivo even became the Leader of a pioneer troop.
[Just as a side note, scouts are organized into branches: the Wolf Cub Branch (ages 6 to 10), the Scout Branch (ages 11 to 14), the Venture Branch (ages 15 to 17), and the Rover Branch (ages 18 to 21). Above the age of 21, there are still volunteers.]

The Olivetano Scout group was founded in 1979. This group no longer exists, but there are currently other groups. (It is believed there are over a thousand currently).
