They have a plan to send the nuclear waste from the Angra dos Reis I, II, and III power plants, which are not yet ready, to Goiás. The chosen location will be the disposal site for nuclear waste from the Cesium-137 accident.
The population of Goiás is furious about this. There is no comparison between the waste from an X-ray machine, a few grams of cesium, and tons of radioactive waste.
The disposal site in Abadia de Goiás is beautiful, has a spring, and is green all year round. If the Federal Government wanted to build these plants, they should find a way to place this waste beneath them. Build a hill and install a cable car, a new Sugarloaf Mountain, but not in Goiás!!!
