I am a biker, I use my motorcycle every day to go to work, school, my girlfriend's house, to see friends and family, but I don't see motorcycles as a safe means of transportation, and therefore I leave some recommendations.
The first is to check your motorcycle before riding it. Ask yourself if you are willing to triple your observation of the world, if you are physically and psychologically well.
What does it mean to be physically well?
To be physically well is, above all, to be physically rested. You should be eager to look in all directions, even upwards, and strong enough to move the handlebars quickly or slowly.
What does it mean to be psychologically well?
Above all, it means not being worried. You cannot and should not ride your motorcycle while dwelling on a romantic relationship, a family matter, or work. So, if you argued with your girlfriend, your boss, or your mother, it's better to take the bus or ask for a ride. If you argued with your girlfriend, ask a girl for a ride, it will do you good.
Traffic is a mess! We know this, but is having a motorcycle the solution for you? Motorcycle companies talk about this all the time. Every time they compare a motorcycle installment to a bus fare. But do you have the nature of a biker, maybe you weren't made for this.
Think hard before buying a motorcycle out of "necessity", and if you buy one, remember that it's for work and school, not for leisure or adventure. Now I ask for your attention and to see a montage I made from real photos, with people who fall off motorcycles. (These photos may be heavy for you, but they are recommended even for those going through the process to get their driver's license)
For those who think I'm one of those perfectly good guys who think motorcycles are dangerous. I have an Intruder and I'm a fan of it, but what I see on the street doesn't please me much, the most critical aspects are,
- Poor training; today, to get a Type A driver's license, you just need to circle cones at very low speeds;
- Speeding;
- Dangerous maneuvers;
- High speed;
- Overtaking;
But it's not just the biker's fault. Public transportation buses and trucks simply ignore motorcycles as if they didn't exist.
A biker has to drive for themselves and for others. A car driver does too. But the windshield of a motorcycle is the rider's face, and the airbag is their chest, so safety instructions will be better evaluated.
