One of the most famous disappearance cases is that of scout Marco Aurélio Bezerra Bosaja Simon, last seen on July 8, 1985, during an excursion to Pico do Marins. In the present day, we have the disappearance of Erick Rian Duarte Santos, 16 years old, who vanished in the vicinity of a park (if not within it), in the Cidade Jardim neighborhood, in São José dos Pinhais, Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, on February 21, 2025.
There is very little information about the teenager's routine. According to Jornal RIC, he had few friends, was undergoing depression treatment, but did not show any intention of running away from home. The young man used to frequent the park accompanied by his dog.
However, on the day of his disappearance, he deleted all information from his cell phone, leaving only the contacts of his parents and close family members. He also deleted apps and games from the device and left without stating his destination. City cameras show Erick walking very close to the bridge of the Canal Extravasor.
The camera footage does not show the boy after that.
Fifteen days after the disappearance, a delivery driver went to the police claiming he saw Erick on this bridge, leading the investigation to believe that the young man, after deleting his phone data, had gone to the location and jumped.

As imagens das câmeras não mostram o garoto após esse ponto.
Quinze dias após o desaparecimento, um motoboy procurou a polícia, afirmando que viu Erick na referida ponte. Isso levou a investigação a considerar a hipótese de que o jovem, após apagar seus dados do celular, teria se dirigido ao local e se jogado.
