[[G1]] - On the morning of this Wednesday (12/21/2011), the Civil Police presented the four suspects involved in the death of publicist Polyanna Arruda, 26, in November 2009, in Goiânia. The case has been under police investigation for two years, with three of the suspects found in the capital and one in Mato Grosso do Sul.
According to [[Police Chief Odair José]], one of those responsible for the case, the four were part of a vehicle theft gang that had been operating in Goiânia for quite some time. The police chief states that at the time of the murder, the target was the young woman's black Prisma. One of them had bought a wrecked car at an auction and wanted another one to replace it. According to Odair, the intention was to take the car and release the young woman afterward. However, on the night of the crime, they had used a lot of cocaine and were violent.

[[G1]] - Polyanna's death occurred over 2 years ago and only now have the suspects been indicted. In your assessment, isn't that a long time?
Tânia Borges - We know that the time was very prolonged, so much so that two men died as a way to silence them. For 2 years and 2 months, they were free, living their lives, committing crimes. They were even arrested for minor offenses, but now they will answer for a heinous crime. We were waiting for the Civil Police to conclude the investigation. I think there is now sufficient evidence against them. Police Chiefs Odair José Soares - from the State Narcotics Repression Police Station (Denarc), who was assigned to handle the case - and [[Kleiton de Oliveira Alencar]] - deputy of the State Homicide Police Station - deserve some recognition.

G1 - Do you think justice will be served now?
Tânia Borges - We are only at the beginning. People think it's over, but it's not. Now, the responsibility for these individuals lies in the hands of the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Court of Justice. We do not want to take justice into our own hands. We want them to be tried and convicted.
G1 - Tomorrow (Wednesday) the four prisoners will be presented by the police. How will you face your daughter's alleged killers?
Tânia Borges - Society will know who the criminals are. My daughter had to face them, and I will do the same. I will face them head-on at the trial. I fought for this. After a fight like this, I will not miss the most important moment, which is their conviction.
