The Public Prosecutor's Office of Goiás has filed charges against six military police officers accused of the murder of [[Murilo Alves de Macedo]], 26, which occurred in Goiânia in August of last year. The news was released on Friday, the 15th. The PMs were arrested during Operation Sixth Commandment, launched on February 15. The investigation was carried out by the Federal Police. The operation led to the arrest of 19 military police officers suspected of participating in an extermination group.
The sub-lieutenants [[Fritz Agapito Figueiredo]] and [[Hamilton Costa Neves]], first lieutenant [[Vítor Jorge Fernandes]], and corporals [[Cláudio Henrique Camargos]], [[Alex Sandro Souza Santos]], and [[Ricardo Rodrigues Machado]] were charged with the young man's death. Of the six accused, five are being held in the maximum-security prison in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. Vítor Jorge was imprisoned for 45 days in the federal prison but was released about 15 days ago by court order.
The police officers stated that Murilo Macedo was killed in a confrontation with members of the Rondas Ostensivas Táticas Metropolitana (Rotam). The victim had allegedly stolen a car. The PMs' approach was recorded in the wiretaps made during the Federal Police investigation. The recorded material contradicts the defense's claim that Murilo tried to escape and shot at the agents. In addition to the murder charges, the Public Prosecutor's Office requests the preventive detention of the six accused of involvement in Murilo's death. ([[DM. Cidades.
