Yesterday, December 9th, at 10 PM, returning from college with a friend, while stopped at the traffic light below Independence Avenue, we were surrounded by criminals holding sticks and a pocketknife. Fortunately, we managed to maneuver and escape the scene. It is very dangerous to pass through the area at night.
During the day, this Tuesday, around 4 PM, I recognized one of the criminals along with street dwellers.
I do not wish to associate the robberies that have occurred in this region, several of which I have already reported on this site, with the street dwellers. However, it is a fact that numerous crimes are happening.
Some individuals have been throwing objects at vehicles with the intention of stopping them to commit robbery.
I have seen police presence on some days, and even approached some street dwellers. However, just like us civilians, it is difficult for the military to differentiate which individuals are among the homeless and are inclined to commit crimes.
