According to the company responsible for energy distribution, Celg, the interruption occurred around 1:40 PM and lasted about 30 minutes. By around 3:00 PM, power had been restored in most of the state. There is still no information on what caused the problem, but according to Celg's press office, the company's technicians are already collecting data to clarify the blackout.

A brush fire, under Furnas transmission lines located in the Anápolis Industrial District (DAIA), caused a drop in the interconnected transmission system and left millions of Goians, residents of the cities of Goiânia, Anápolis, Inhumas, Palmeiras, Firminópolis, Iporá, Morrinhos, Caldas, and Pires do Rio without electricity.
The blackout began at 1:29 PM and the system was only fully restored at 3:00 PM. According to CELG's technical director, Humberto Eustáquio, two transmission lines were hit, causing the interruption of supply. They are located between the substations of Aparecida de Goiânia (Bandeirantes) and Brasília (Samambaia).
The power outage affected 1,200,000 consumer units, which means approximately 3,500,000 people. The police may be called to investigate whether the brush fire was accidental or criminal.
In the case of consumers who had appliances damaged or suffered any type of loss due to the blackout, Humberto Eustáquio assured that CELG will provide compensation, following the norms established by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), which regulates the system.
