BRASÍLIA - The Supreme Federal Court (STF) overturned, in a judgment concluded early Thursday evening, the 30th, the Press Law, one of the last legislations from the dictatorship era that remained in effect. In a historic judgment, 7 out of the 11 STF ministers decided to make the entire law ineffective, concluding that it, enacted in 1967, was incompatible with democracy and the current Federal Constitution. They considered the Press Law unconstitutional.
It no longer has legal value, but if you are interested historically and wish to know the Press Law (Law No. 5,250, OF FEBRUARY 9, 1967), click here
