The Largest Star in the Universe
Currently, the largest known star in the Universe is UY Scuti.
This star is a red supergiant located in the constellation Scutum, approximately 9,500 light-years away from Earth.
UY Scuti's size is impressive: its radius is estimated to be about 1,700 times the radius of the Sun. If UY Scuti were at the center of our Solar System, its surface would extend beyond the orbit of Jupiter.
It's important to note that the discovery and identification of "largest stars" are ongoing processes in astronomy. New observations and research may lead to the discovery of even larger stars in the future.
