"Several users have been identified and will be summoned as part of the police inquiry to provide clarification, and all individuals mentioned in the phone taps will be summoned to explain themselves," said delegate Jackson Ribas.
According to delegate Jackson Ribas, head of the Specialized Criminal Investigations Delegation (DEIC), the phone taps that led to the arrest of Giulhierme Oliveira Simões, 27, last Tuesday, the 5th, and his brothers Marcelo Oliveira Simões, 25, and Vinicius Oliveira Simões, 26, and accomplice Gledson Cris Aguiar de Sousa, 34, arrested yesterday, point to the involvement of a doctor and public servants. "What drew attention were certain users asking for drugs, some of them public servants, working in public places, and this will be thoroughly investigated," said the delegate.
According to the delegate, the investigations began after public complaints. "It was the public who reported drug trafficking in the city, and due to the intense nature of the trafficking, we requested the necessary judicial measures with phone interceptions and began monitoring the individuals' movements," said the delegate.
The first arrest occurred last Tuesday when Giulhierme was receiving 186 grams of cocaine. "On Tuesday, we intercepted a conversation from Giulhierme stating that the drugs would arrive in a van coming from Palmas and that they would receive the drugs here in the city. We waited for their arrival and arrested him with 186 grams," said Jackson.
The involvement of the Simões brothers and Gledson in trafficking was confirmed before carnival through phone interceptions, according to the delegate. "It appears they were part of a carnival block's organizing committee and assisted in its organization. Consequently, we deployed police officers within the blocks before carnival to monitor everyone's movements. This work has been carried out by the police since carnival, and we achieved success about 20 days after carnival," said the delegate. "They are influential figures in drug trafficking in the city," he added.
Involvement of a Gurupi doctor
Another fact that drew significant attention was the appearance of a doctor in the recordings (SEE DIALOGUE BELOW) who demonstrated consuming cocaine while on duty. "I haven't slept at all yesterday, man. I left a clinic and now I'm at the Emergency Room, man. I can't even walk. Save me. I can't even walk, man. I haven't slept since yesterday [...] Give me five. Save me, man, I'm not doing well," one of the recordings states.
"Several users have been identified and will be summoned as part of the police inquiry to provide clarification, and all individuals mentioned in the phone taps will be summoned to explain themselves," said the delegate.
According to the delegate, there are other individuals who have already been identified and are under investigation. "As soon as we have conclusive evidence that allows us to take a precautionary measure to remove these people from circulation, the police will do so," he stated.
Part of the dialogue between Giulhierme and the doctor:
Doctor: Do you know how many deliveries I did last night? Four deliveries and a cesarean, man.
Giulhierme: Damn, man.
Doctor: I haven't slept at all yesterday, man. I left a clinic and now I'm at the Emergency Room, man. I can't even walk. Save me. I can't even walk, man. I haven't slept since yesterday.
Giulhierme: For f**k's sake, are you kidding? You're worn out, you know.
Doctor: Uh-huh!
Giulhierme: It's over, man.
Doctor: But get me some.
Giulhierme: I'll get it for you. How much?
Doctor: At least four.
Giulhierme: Alright then, alright.
Doctor: Give me about five, man. Save me, man, I'm not doing well.
Giulhierme: I'll call you.
Doctor: Thanks, Giulhierme. Thank you.
