A tripartite meeting of MH370 officials was held in Canberra on September 3-4, 2015. Discussions during the meeting focused on planning to ensure the search for the aircraft continues to be conducted as efficiently as possible, taking advantage of the expected better weather with the onset of summer. Chinese authorities were unable to attend on this occasion, but arrangements are in place to meet with them in the coming weeks.
On September 4, 2015, French authorities confirmed that the flaperon found on La Réunion was from MH370. The discovery of wreckage on La Réunion is consistent with the current search area.
