João Varella / [[R7]] / The family of Felipe Iasi, who was indicted for participation in the murder of cartoonist Glauco Vilas Boas and his son Raoni, in March 2010, is considering suing the Civil Police. The information was passed to R7 by Iasi's lawyer, Cássio Paoletti. According to the defender, his client was "in the wrong place at the wrong time". After the crime, the police discovered that Iasi was driving the car that took Eduardo Sundfeld Nunes, Cadu, to the cartoonist's farm in Osasco.
For Iasi's lawyer, the proof that the police made a mistake in indicting his client is that the Public Prosecutor's Office of Paraná did not file a complaint against him in court. "The family is studying the possibility of holding the delegates responsible, who gave interviews prematurely."
Despite the plural statement, Paoletti mentions only one delegate: Marcos Carneiro, who is currently the Director-General of the Civil Police and, at the time of the crime, held the position of director of Demacro (Department of Judicial Police of Macro São Paulo).
"Dr. Carneiro abused his power as a police authority, gave interviews prematurely and boldly. Now he may be civilly liable for the serious disturbances he caused to the young man," he said.
