Scouting is a movement of an educational, voluntary, and non-profit nature, in which young people have the opportunity to develop socially in a way based on values, respect, friendship, fraternity, and love for nature.
The movement was conceived by the English lord Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell in 1907. It all began when Baden-Powell organized a camp with twenty boys, where he taught the young people concepts of first aid, observation, safety, and orientation. Due to the good outcome of the camp, Baden-Powell decided to write a book: Scouting for Boys, published in 1908. The Englishman's ideas were very well received. The movement quickly spread to several countries around the world."
